Decision on Electricity Prices
According to the Decision, the lowest level is 0-50kWh charged 1,549 VND/kWh. The highest level is above 401 kWh charged 2,701 VND/kWh. That means users who consume more than 400 kWh per month will be charged nearly double.

DECISION
ON ELECTRICITY PRICES
THE MINISTER OF INDUSTRY AND TRADE
Pursuant to the Government’s Decree No. 98/2017/ND-CP dated August 18, 2017 on functions, tasks, rights and organizational structure of the Ministry of Industry and Trade;
Pursuant to the Law on Electricity dated December 03, 2004 and the Law on amendments to a number of articles of the Law on Electricity dated November 20, 2012;
Pursuant to the Government’s Decree No. 137/2013/ND-CP dated October 21,2013 elaborating a number of articles of the Law on Electricity and the Law on amendments to a number of articles of the Law on Electricity;
Pursuant to the Prime Minister’s Decision No. 24/2017/QD-TTg dated June 30, 2017 on mechanism for adjustment of average retail electricity price;
Pursuant to the Prime Minister’s Decision No.28/2014/QD-TTg dated April 07, 2014 on structure of electricity retail tariff;
Pursuant to the Circular No. 16/2014/Circular-BCT dated May 29, 2014 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade on application of electricity price;
At the request of the General Director of the Electricity Regulatory Authority,
DECIDES:
Article 1. The retail electricity prices and electricity prices provided in the Appendix enclosed herewith are applied to groups of electricity users and electricity retailers respectively. Electricity price provided in the Appendix enclosed herewith is exclusive of value added tax (VAT).
Article 2. Average retail electricity price is VND 1,720.65 per kWh (exclusive of VAT).
Article 3. The electricity price is applied from December 01, 2017.
Article 4. The Chief of the Ministry Office, Director General of the Electricity Regulatory Authority, Director General of Vietnam Electricity and relevant organizations and individuals are responsible for the implementation of this Decision./.
